THREE PARKS, TWO BRIDGES, ONE COMMUNITY
We feel there is a real sense of "Community" in Salem and our philosphy is to remain highly involved. We care about our downtown neighborhood. We support local student athletes and offer adult walking and running clinics. We receive frequent referrals from the medical and the recreationally active communities and provide a valuable service by assisting patients, clients and members with comfortable walking and running shoes. Our experienced staff offers sound advice to people who spend time on their feet or have goals to spend more time on their feet! True to our motto over the last eleven years, we are "Bringing Willamette Valley to Its Feet!"
In addition to our regular retail jobs, we volunteer on committees created to improve and enhance our local community. We invite our customers, friends and community members to be informed of what's happening and get involved.
Gallagher Fitness Resources has been intimately involved in the Union Street Railroad Bridge Conversion Project that will safely and aesthetically connect Riverfront Park to Wallace Marine Park. We are also in support of the proposed Minto Island Bridge for bicycle and pedestrian use. We fully acknowledge and are aware of the concerns of those not necessarily in favor of the project. For the last six years we have been actively involved with this bridge project and remain hopeful that it will come to fruition. Our goal and our passion is to increase awareness and support toward the construction of the bridge and the connecting pathways into Minto as soon as possible.
In the spirit of health, well-being and community livability, it is truly in the best interest of all park users to commute and recreate safely between the parks. Community support and momentum is better than ever and we extend our invitation to all to continue and strengthen the support for this important project.
We invite you to join us. Here are a couple simple ways to get informed and become involved. Be aware that the Salem City Council will make a decision about designs in March, 2009. Your input is important and will be influential. All are welcome and encouraged to attend this council meeting.

Trigger Point Classes Resume in April
Trigger Point Technologies - TP Therapy Tools
Upcoming Trigger Point Classes at GFR
In the Trigger Point class, you get educated through a better appreciation of which muscles are tight and how to release them for better performance. We address common running conditions like IT Band Syndrome, Plantar Fasciitis, Shin Splints, Piriformis Syndrome and more. We provide a way for you to take care of yourself by creating elasticity in the muscles and treating the cause of a problem, rather than just the symptoms. You'll perform at a higher level and minimize the aches and pains and conditions that steer you off the path toward your goals.

John and Susan believe you can accomplish things you never thought possible. When training for distance events, we guide you toward your goals, but you do the work. From time to time, aches and pains occur and whether you're a beginner or a veteran it's not always easy to know when to push through the discomfort and when to back off. Each time you return from a set-back, whether short-term or extended, you learn something new and gain more knowledge in how to deal with it the next time around. We believe this learning process, this "runner's education" is vital to personal improvement.
Cheers from all of us at GFR. The best investment you can make in 2009 is an investment in your health! So get aerobic and feel good!
As always - Stay tuned to www.ActiveSalem.com for updates!
