ON YOUR FEET FRIDAYS! 2013
Bridge + Community + Family + Fun
On Your Feet Fridays (OYFF) is a community and family oriented series of events, each 2nd Friday of the month, May through October. The series is intended to help increase awareness of and funding for the Riverfront to Minto Pedestrian and Bicycle Bridge.
On Your Feet means exactly that. The format encourages people of all ages to walk or run on sidewalks and through parks in downtown Salem to checkpoints which are local businesses or attractions. On their way, participants will discover new places, get in some exercise and have fun. Every month will include different checkpoints and at least one checkpoint that requires extra effort to reach.
5:30-6:15pm - Sign-ups at GFR + Shoe Testing
6:15-7:00pm - ON YOUR FEET! To the Checkpoints
7:00-8:00pm - Raffle Prizes + Party
Each month will have a shoe sponsor. Come early and leave your old shoes as you test out a new pair. A big THANK YOU to our shoe sponsors:
Food + Beverage:
Food from Venti's and beer from Gilgamesh Brewing is available from 5:30-8pm. Avoid having to carry your wallet while going to the checkpoints! Tickets may be purchased beginning at 5pm and after you return from the checkpoints. Proceeds go to Friends of Two Bridges!

Friends of Two Bridges:
Friends of Two Bridges (F2B) is a non-profit group dedicated to the design and construction of the Minto Island Bridge and connecting pathways. In addition to gathering support for the Union Street Railroad Bridge, F2B organized its ribbon cutting ceremony, an interpretive display and constructed soft surface trails in Wallace Marine Park. F2B is gathering funding support for the Riverfront to Minto Island bridge and connecting pathways. On Your Feet Fridays will help increase awareness of the Riverfront to Minto Bridge progress and assist F2B with funding through donations.
Sales from food and beer at On Your Feet Fridays will go to Friends of Two Bridges.

How On Your Feet Fridays (OYFF) Work:
On Your Feet Friday is similar to a scavenger hunt or poker run, and here are the guidelines:
- 5:30-6:15pm - Sign up at Gallagher Fitness Resources, 135 Commercial St NE, downtown Salem and receive your OYFF Passport with checkpoints.
- 6:15pm - Go to as many OYFF checkpoints as possible to get your Passport stamps. How you get there is up to you. The more stamps you get, the more chances you have to win prizes.
- 7:00pm - Raffle begins! Turn in your OYFF Passport and get your raffle tickets.
Q: Are walkers allowed to participate?
A: Yes. This is family-friendly and relaxed. You can challenge your friends but it's not intended to be a race.
Q: How long is the course?
A: As long as you want it to be. Some checkpoints are across the street or a block away and others are up to 2 miles away. Some of the further checkpoints are worth more tickets and are noted on the Passport.
Q: How much does it cost to participate?
Q: Will food and beer be available?
A: Yes.
Q: Do I have to hit all the checkpoints?
A: No. Just remember that the more checkpoints you hit the better your chances of winning prizes.
Q: How long does this go until?
A: The event is from 5:30 until 8. We recommend you arrive early to sign up and try on shoes from the participating vendor of the month.
Q: Can I push a baby stroller?
A: Sure, but in order to receive a Passport, you must participate on your feet.
There is no set course. You decide how you get to the checkpoints. Please respect all pedestrian traffic signals and use safety when crossing streets.
